It's hard to imagine that Terre Haute North can't be better than they were last year. A few of their kids are playing club ball and their schedule is usually soft.
West should be better with a few more numbers. South will have a difficult time improving on last years record, but might be even STRONGER this saeson.A stronger schedule will push them. Young players need to attend a few matches of each team.It will be obvious to them what club ball can do for them. They need to talk to some of the players and get a first hand story what it can be like. |

I don't know all the COA girls by name, but based on what I've seen at practices, EVERYONE has improved alot since January. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our coaches. THANK YOU for making better players out of our daughters! I'm not sure about the other COA teams but I do know that the 14 reds have three players that never played club volleyball until this year (Ashley, Brianne and Jessica) And they have all improved a bunch! Keep up the hard work girls!! And THANK YOU Beeler and Amy for getting the most out of ALL your players!!

Spike, I think I agree that THN will be better than last year. And should have a much better record than last year. Kylie beginning to mature as a hitter and Kim with another year of setting will help them greatly. The biggest problem with North though is where is the future. There are NO younger players in club to actually build a program on the North side. It is too bad most of their players don't take advantage of club until high school. It's just hard to catch up.
What about Northveiw? I have been hearing rumors of a new coach?? Watch out for thier middle school team!! Great group. |

I don't know about the Sullivan High School; but, I am excited about the Junior High (8th grade) season. Alyssa and Erika (13s) are getting a good rhythm as setter and hitter. They have been practicing new hits that many of the 8th grade teams we will be playing have never seen (like 1 balls, slides, back row attacks).
These two also have a great relationship with the rest of the girls that play and should be able to share their experience and lessons of club ball to make a team to be watched. Good Luck girls!!! |

I might suggest that you find out as much as you can now about the high school program. New coaches, new ideas. If your kids are going to play at the next level, they should be planning how they are going to go about it now.
Looking forward to the Jr high school season is fine.Hopefully their enthusiam for the game will rub off on others, and they can find out how good they can really be as a team. It still takes 6 to be a team. Good luck this season!!! |

So which local team is the most improved this year? Early season has THNorth as the most improved in my mind. North v South is tomorrow and this is the beginning of conference season. What other teams are showing signs of life?
